A GENTLE SOLUTION
Acupuncture is a complete system of medicine based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. Our approach to Acupuncture is gentle, effective, and firmly grounded in modern scientific and physiological understanding. We assess, diagnose, and treat using a holistic approach that addresses not just your symptoms but the root causes within your body.
Acupuncture can be a standalone treatment or effectively combined with other therapeutic modalities to create a tailored approach that best suits your individual needs and health goals. At Revival, we believe in a personalized treatment strategy that respects your unique journey toward well-being.
World Health Organization (WHO) published an official report listing 31 symptoms, conditions, and diseases that can be treated effectively by Acupuncture.
Some key benefits of Acupuncture include:
- Promote, Maintain, Restore, and Improve Health: Acupuncture is about more than symptom relief; it’s a holistic approach to your overall well-being.
- Prevent Disorder, Imbalance, or Disease: By maintaining balance in your body, you could prevent health issues from arising.
- Restore Function and Quality of Life: Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, mobility issues, or a specific condition, Acupuncture could help you reclaim your life.

YOUR ACUPUNCTURE SESSION AT REVIVAL
During an Acupuncture session, our therapists target specific points, guided by anatomical and physiological standards, manual inspection, and palpation. Stimulating these points trigger predictable physiological responses, impacting your neurophysiological, biochemical, and hormonal systems. This, in turn, alleviates symptoms, reduces pain, and supports your body’s internal regulation. We employ various techniques, including manual, mechanical, thermal, and electrotherapeutic stimulation to enhance your experience and outcomes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No, it doesn’t hurt!
Treatments are very relaxing, Dr. Sharon’s needle technique can be as gentle or therapeutic as you would like. The majority of the times clients are so relax that it is normal to have a little “Acu-nap.”
We use very fine, high quality disposable needles which are often not felt upon insertion. You may feel a mild aching or heaviness sensation when a needle reaches the correct depth. When targeting muscles it is common to feel a muscle jump or twitch response. The sensations should be tolerable and the optimal goal is to maintain your relaxed breathing pattern.
Scientists and doctors have several proven theories to explain the benefits of Acupuncture.
*Neurotransmitter Theory
Acupuncture stimulates the release of specific neurotransmitters that stimulate the immune system function.
*Autonomic Nervous System Theory
Acupuncture stimulates the release of norepinephrine, and stimulates several types of opioid receptors creating a positive affect to the nervous system, helping to reduce pain and inflammation.
*Vascular-Interstitial Theory
Acupuncture affects the electrical system of the body. This facilitates healing by allowing the transfer of material and electrical energy between normal and injured tissues. This electrical energy is part of what we call “Qi” in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
“Qi” is the vital force of energy and the transformation potential in every living organism and its parts.
Also known as ATP (Adenosine triphosphate), this is the molecule that carries energy within cells. All living things use ATP.
*Blood Chemistry Theory
Acupuncture can both raise and diminish peripheral blood components, regulating the body helping the individual to be in homeostasis, stimulating better blood circulation.

Acupuncture works cumulatively in a series of treatments. We encourage you to experience what it has to offer by committing yourself to your treatment plan. With each treatment, improvements continue to build up from the last. If your symptoms return prior your next visit, contact our clinic to book as soon as possible.
As Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments are customized to each client, there may be a different point prescription at each visit. Dr. Sharon Pratt will provide you with a specific treatment plan tailored to your needs, along with instructions to follow after each visit. Treatments work cumulatively. For faster results, Dr. Sharon Pratt recommends visiting 1-2 times for the first two weeks of treatment. After reaching stable results, her recommendation is a monthly visit to maintain progressive healing. For preventative health, especially during stressful times, Dr. Sharon Pratt
recommends a Tuneup treatment. Acupuncture is amazing therapy for mental health, as well as physical wellbeing. Acute conditions improve more quickly than chronic; for the best results, visit Dr.Sharon Pratt as soon as possible after an injury, or whenever for addressing a new symptom or health imbalance
